Objective

Objective: The idea of telling stories becomes a bit of a way for the men to escape their surroundings. Today's objective is to talk about the idea of stories and their value to the men and to others in the world.

1. Have each student describe the ways in which they use stories in their everyday lives. Have each student try to come up with three ways stories are used in their lives each day.

2. In smaller groups, have students discuss whether they think stories are as important as they seem in this story. Why or why not?

3. As a class, have students list the positive and negative effects of stories in the modern world. What kind of value do they provide? Are stories more or less important today? What proof is out there to support this idea?
