1) Class Discussion: What does the author provide as a logic for taking on interviews with Stangl, former death camp Kommandant Franz D. Paul Stangl? When did they meet for the first time? How did Stangl respond to Sereny?

2) Group Discussions: Sereny quoted Wiesenthal's words about Stangl and then she talked about how her impressions of Stangl were different. What were her impressions? How were they different? Consider these differences and discuss why Sereny has a different impression of the man...
