Write the play

Write a short version of the play of no more than ten minutes.

Create the setting

Draw a picture of what you think the set of the play is like.

Gibberish Game- communication

Before class, prepare some index cards, each with one simple sentence written on it.

One student volunteers to go to the front, and glances at the top card in the pile. The student's job is to communicate the precise meaning of the sentence without the use of spoken language or pantomime strictly through the use of nonsensical sounds and gibberish. Students try to guess the meaning of the sentence. This demonstrates some aspects of non-verbal communication, as well as touch on the subject of translation.
