Jude Brister was molested by her father from ages four to twelve. Her story, "The Windows Netting," is based on her experience when her father repeatedly raped her on a camping trip with her brother. Her father died a few months after.

3. What happens in "The Window's Netting"?

In "The Window's Netting," Jude Brister describes how a girl's father forced her into his sleeping bag and raped her both that night and again the following morning on a camping trip. The father eventually gives her a single person tent with a ripped window netting. The young girl repairs the window netting and sleeps in safety alone that night.
