Mock courtroom

Set up a mock courtroom to hear the trial of the characters from this book. Do this before the students have read the last chapter. Have the students decide who wants to be the judge, jury, defendants, etc. and act out the case. Use a questioning strategy to come up with questions for the witnesses (this could be done in groups.)

Man vs. Machine

The students will gather examples of man vs. machine throughout history. Make a posterboard with magazine and newspaper clippings.

Bravery

Illustrate examples of bravery from our lives today. Use modern-day heros and stories. Gather examples from newspapers and magazines for examples of bravery and what that looks like to the students today. Collect all the stories and make a notebook.
