Lesson 1 (from Prologue, Chapters 1 and 2)

Objective

Prologue, Chapters 1 and 2: Seldon's Plan, as included in these chapters, was made to lessen the time of barbarism that is bound to follow the fall of the Empire. This lesson will focus on why this plan was created and how it will achieve its goals. This will be revisited in a later lesson when there is more information on Seldon's Plan.

Lesson

1. Divide the students into small groups. Have each small group come up with a description of Seldon's Plan that includes all the information they can find in these chapters. Have each small group present these to the class while compiling a class explanation of Seldon's Plan. Keep the class explanation on the wall where students can refer to it throughout their reading.
