Lesson 1 (from Tuesday, April 14, 1964, Chapters 1, 2, 3 and 4)

Objective

The aim of this lesson is to examine the first death.

Lesson

1.Class discussion. How does the first person die? What clues are left at the scene? Who are the suspects? How do the students think Zavi should proceed from the clues left at the scene?

2.With the students, list the clues left at the scene. Divide the students into pairs and ask each pair to discuss how they think Zavi should proceed in the case. End the lesson by sharing the student's ideas.

3.With the students, list the suspects so far in the case. Ask the students to pick a suspect and write their reasons why that person could be guilty. What is their motive? Do they have an alibi? Compare the students ideas before voting on who they think is the main suspect.

4.Homework. In preparation for tomorrow's lesson, examine other alternative history novels...
