Native American Culture

The Adams' were very closely connected with the Indian tribes in the area. Have a day to study the Indian culture and have the students write about how this new information enhanced their understanding of the Adams' characters and actions.

Bullring

Bullfighting is something that a number of these stories are based off of. Explain to the students the rituals involved in bullfighting. Have the the students write about how this new knowledge changed their views of the characters in the bullfighting stories.

War Veteran

A number of these stories take place during war times. Find a war veteran to come to class and talk about their experiences in war. Allow the students to ask questions, and work together beforehand to create some kind of thank you present for the visitor.
