1. How did Ellen and Willowdean become friends?

The summer before first grade, Willowdean's aunt Lucy and Ellen's mother would get together and have tea and listen to Dolly Parton. Ellen and Willowdean would sit on the couch watching cartoons, not sure what to make of one another. Then one afternoon the song "Hello, I'm Dolly" came on. Pretty soon Ellen was tapping her foot and Willowdean was humming along. Then they started spinning in circles and singing loudly. After that, they became friends.

2. How does Willowdean describe Bo in Chapter 1?

Willowdean has had a giant crush on Bo since they met. He has unstyled brown hair that is a perfect mess at the top of his head. He looks ridiculous in his red and white uniform.
