Objective

The beginning of this chapter examines how Capstick became a hunter. Born in the USA, he attended the University of Virginia and worked on Wall Street before moving to South America to work as a hunter. After a few years gathering experience in South America, he bought a hunting license and moved to Africa.

The aim of this lesson is to examine Capstick's life as a hunter.

Lesson

1) Class discussion. What do the students think made Capstick a good hunter? What did Capstick know about hunting before he moved to South America? What do the students think Capstick had to learn to become a successful hunter? Why do the students think Capstick chose to settle in Africa?

2) Divide the students into pairs or groups of three. Ask them to use magazine pictures to make a picture story of Capstick's life and how he worked his way...
