Blakinger had problems. She was out of clean clothes. She could not find her glasses. Her English paper was late, and her pockets were not big enough for all the heroin she had. Plus, she really wanted a cigarette, but she could not find her smokes.

2. In Chapter 1, what did Blakinger do with the heroin she was carrying when she saw a cop, and how was the cop made aware what she was carrying?

Blakinger had her heroin in a clear container. She set it down for a moment to find a cigarette. When she looked up, she saw a cop. She tossed the heroin under the nearest car and hoped the cop did not see it. While she was talking to the cop, a neighbor lady came with the container and asked the cop if that was what he was looking for.
