Objective

The student will learn from the teacher important background information on THE BRONZE BOW.

Lesson

1. The teacher will provide background for the story from a historical perspective. (e.g., Tiberius was the Roman Emperor at the time.)

2. Some illustration of life in the villages and in the cities should be given the students. Excerpts from the movie BEN HUR would be a good example.

3. The teacher will bring some bronze artifacts to class and the students will discuss that material and the practicality of using it for a bow.

Homework:

Read Chapter 1 and write down the characters and a brief description of each one.

Find the area of Galilee on a map.

Objective

The student will expound on the character of Daniel and his motivation for hating the Romans.

The student will contrast Daniel and Joel, the poor boy and the rich boy.
