Lesson

1) Class Discussion: The prologue introduces the reader to the main character, Rose Hathaway, and her decision to go to Russia to find her former lover and release him from his current Strigoi condition. Discuss with students the different types of vampires in this novel. Discuss with students who Rose Hathaway is and the circumstances she finds herself in. Finally, discuss with students the relationship between Rose and Dimitri and why she feels she must free him from his current circumstances.
