Lesson 1 (from Introduction – Chapter 1)
Objective
This lesson introduces students to the nonfiction book A Warning by Anonymous. Students will research the book’s publication and criticism and will analyze its precursor, the September 2018 op-ed from the New York Times, "I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration." A Warning is a 2019 exposé of the Trump administration authored anonymously by a senior Trump administration official that expands upon this op-ed and assesses the failings of Donald Trump as the leader of the free world.

Research Activity: Take time in class to conduct research on the September 2018 op-ed from the New York Times, "I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration" and the publication of A Warning. How did the public and critics respond to the original op-ed? How did Trump respond?
