The Last Wild Overview

Piers Torday's The Last Wild is the first book in the eponymous trilogy. The novel is set in a dystopian future after a horrendous plague has made almost all the animals on the planet extinct. The Factorium capitalizes on the situation by selling a food-replacement formula that ultimately enables them to take over the government. The novel explores complacency, intellect, human supremacy, the ethics of meat, and mega-corporations.
