Strange Weather in Tokyo Overview

In Hiromi Kawakami's novel Strange Weather in Tokyo, after first person narrator Tsukiko runs into her former Japanese teacher in a bar, she and Sensei begin to develop an unexpected kinship. Before reconnecting with Sensei, Tsukiko spent the majority of her time alone, unaware of her solitude and loneliness.
