Golden Prey Overview
John Sandford’s thriller, Golden Prey, is the author’s 27th novel in the Prey series. The narrative tells of Lucas Davenport’s hunt for the notorious Garvin Poole. As he tracks Poole down, Lucas displays the characteristics of a good hunter who recognizes the value of teamwork when catching one’s prey. With the help of his powers of deduction, the work of his team, and the implementation of police procedures, Lucas is able to find and defeat Poole. The author addresses themes such as the love of family, technology's role in society, legality versus morality, and the existence of good and evil in all places. The narrative also sends a message that crime does not pay.
