James Bowen's A Gift From Bob: How a Street Cat Helped One Man Learn the Meaning of Christmas, is another series in Bowen's memoirs depicting his adventures with his cat, Bob. Shortly after the publication of his first book, a large publishing house invites Bowen to a Christmas party. Feeling out of place, Bowen reflects on all of the ways that his life has recently changed. He particularly depicts the days and weeks leading up to the Christmas of 2010 in order to consider all he has to be grateful for. The memoir explores themes including, kindness, gratitude, and change.
