Ann Burden

Ann Burden is a teenage girl who is the sole survivor a war that ended in nuclear holocaust. Ann's valley was protected from the nuclear fallout because of some meteorological phenomenon. Ann's family and their neighbors, the Kleins, also survived the initial attack, but later disappeared while exploring the area outside of their valley. This left Ann alone, unsure if anyone else in the country survived.

One day, Ann notices smoke in the distance. Ann follows the progress of this smoke until one afternoon a man comes into her valley. Ann initially hides, afraid of what this man might want. Later, however, Ann comes out of hiding to nurse the man back to health. Unfortunately, the man has strange ideas of how he would like to survive this holocaust and he becomes tyrannical, frightening Ann until she decides she has no choice but to...
