Kingsbridge

This is the town where much of the action takes place. The town is the largest in the immediate area. It is the home of the Kingsbridge Priory. The annual Fleece Fair is held there as the novel opens, though the fair dwindles over time so that it is held every other years. Kingsbridge is not a typical town of the time, but is technically under the control of the priory. There is an active guild association, a group of businessmen who try to look out for the town, but they are ultimately at the mercy of the prior's decisions. During the early years of this novel, the early 1300s, a single bridge provides access to the town and that bridge collapses.

Wigleigh
