Part 2, Paradiso: Chapters 27-29 Summary

In Chapter 27, Calla and her group are to attend a meeting of the entire community to discuss what happened in Denver. However, Calla slips away and goes into the courtyard. Calla is filled with guilt over Ren and cannot get him out of her mind. As she stares at the ring he gave her, she remembers how he told her it reminded him of her hair. For this reason, Calla chops off her braid with a pair of pruning shears. Shay finds her like this a few minutes later. They come together and make love.

In Chapter 28, Calla shocks her friends and some of the Searchers when she arrives at breakfast with her hair cut. Bryn and Sabine take Calla into one of the rooms and attempt to repair the damage Calla has done to her hair...
