Part 1, Purgatory: Chapters 9-11 Summary

In Chapter 9, Calla and Shay are taken back to the Haldis wing and shown to their rooms. When Connor and Ariadne leave them alone, Calla welcomes Shay into her room. They talk for a few minutes and then become romantic. Calla holds back however because memories of Ren continuously fill her mind. Calla needs to find her pack and she needs to right the wrongs she has caused them. Ren is included in this even though Calla knows that her love is for Shay, not Ren. However, because Ren helped Shay and Calla escape, she feels as though she owes him more than this. Why Shay realizes what is holding Calla back, he becomes angry and leaves.
