Chapters 36-40 Summary

In Chapter 36, Richard and Kahlan reluctantly press on to Tamarang. Richard catches two rabbits for the stew and Kahlan jokes that they have enough food even for Zedd. At that moment, the old wizard walks into camp. Zedd reveals that he is the keeper of the book, which reveals which box of Orden to open. The book was in Aydindril, the traditional home of wizards and Confessors, which has fallen to Darken Rahl. Zedd assumes that Rahl now has the Book of Counted Shadows. He also reveals that the attack on Horner's Mill was actually by Rahl's men, not troops from the Westlands as rumored. Richard had already been convinced that this was true.
