Chapters 26 - 30 Summary

In Chapter 26, Richard and Kahlan frantically rescue Siddin from the spirits of the underworld, called when he plays with the night stone. In the process, Kahlan is attacked by one of the Mud People elders, and must kill him with her magic power. After the death, a new elder must be appointed. The Bird Man appoints Richard's friend Savidlin, who immediately proposes that Richard and Kahlan be initiated into the tribe of Mud People and hold a council of seers. The other elders admit they were wrong and kneel before Richard, offering him their lives. He tries to kill them with the Sword of Truth but it stops an inch before striking the first elder. The elders swear loyalty to the Seeker.

In Chapter 27, there is a great banquet that night to induct Kahlan and Richard into the tribe. Richard eats...
