Trust

One of the main themes in the story of Blake Harrison and Sam Elliot in “Wife by Wednesday” is trust. Sam Elliot had been hurt in the past by trusting the wrong people. For one, she naturally trusted her father but he let her down and violated her trust through his criminal activities that shed a bad light on her and haunted her ever since. While federal investigators were trying to make a case against Sam’s father, an undercover agent named Dan started a romantic relationship with Sam for the purpose of learning more about her father. Sam fell for Dan who taped her conversations and used them to prosecute her father. She was twenty-one at the time and was so hurt by the relationship that she didn’t let anyone get close to her for many years.
