Summary

In “Chapter 12,” Ivy learned that Roux had opened a dozen different businesses and was very wealthy. He had met Sylvia, who was getting her PhD, because he donated money to an art gallery she was involved with. Ivy was not surprised to learn that Roux had become wealthy, as he had an ambitious ingenuity that would have either led him to wealth or prison. He hinted at their past in front of everyone, but he did not reveal her secrets. Still, she was on edge and felt strange around him. Sylvia found a cat and brought it to the beach house.
