Summary

Section 2: Light

Chapters 16-20

Abra is at work and, unknowingly, waits on the killer. The killer’s plans to plant the murder weapon in Bluff House have failed since Corbett has already searched the premises. The killer wants Eli to die but knows that it has to look like an accident. The killer has to work hard to restrain himself when Eli walks into the bar.

Abra introduces Eli to Stoney, an elderly gentleman that always teases Abra. Stoney and Eli fall into easy conversation. Stoney tells Eli stories about his grandfather when they were boys.

Eli and Abra’s romantic plans are thwarted when Eli notices smudges on the alarm panel. The couple checks the trench in the basement and finds that it is deeper than before. Eli calls Vinnie.
