Summary

In Chapter 19 Luke and Annie went to Luke’s hometown, Pentwater, to confront Andy. Andy was a real estate agent and Annie had set up a meeting, pretending she was interested in a house. Luke had picked the house they would go to; his old childhood home. As they drove past the fishing boats, Luke recalled a time when his father had asked him to gut a fish for the first time when he was 10. He had been unable to kill the still moving fish and his father had cut his face with a knife. His father’s assault had been interrupted by the boss who worried about Luke. Instead of going home, Luke slept on the beach and was found in the morning. Since that day social services made visits to his home once a month and his father stopped hitting him. Annie...
