Part 2: Chapter 10 Summary

Travis and Nora take Einstein home. Once there, they fall into a normal routine. Einstein, however, has lost his connection to The Outsider and cannot tell them how close it is. This worries Travis, but not enough for him to decide to pack up and move on. Christmas comes. Travis and Nora celebrate in a big way, because Nora never had a real holiday celebration before. They buy presents for each other and Einstein, spending the day with Keene and his dog. It is a wonderful family experience that leaves Nora full of expectations for the future. Einstein too is thinking of the future, contemplating the idea of getting a mate. The thought of having puppies makes Einstein wonder if he can pass on his intelligence. Travis and Nora promise to think about the situation and get back to him.
