Summary

In Chapter 19, Hideo wishes Emika good luck in her first official Warcross game; the two constantly communicate via text since their dinner. Their first game is against the Demon Brigade and each player steps into an identical booth in order to ensure that all conditions are the same and that there are no connectivity issues. The first game is a race down a snowy landscape on hoverboards and Emika proves herself to be an asset, even as they fend off huge animals like a polar bear, dragon, and wolf. She also manages to activate the snare by grabbing onto Ren's wrist, thus downloading all his information. Emika lures the dragon into eating the other captain Jena and as Jena regenerates Asher grabs her Artifact, winning the game. As they celebrate, Emika spots Zero's shadowy figure on top of the ice.
