Unwinding

Unwinding is the process of removing an unwanted person's vital organs to be used as donations to those in need. Someone referred to Unwinding as abortion after the fact. Children between the ages of thirteen to eighteen could be sent to a harvest camp such as Twin Lakes Harvest Camp to be disassembled. The thinking behind the process is that the child does not die because his body parts live on in other people. Once a person is committed to being unwound by a parent or guardian, there is no way to reverse the process.

The Admiral explains the genus of the program: "'The war was getting worse,' says the Admiral. 'We brokered a peace by bringing both sides to the table. Then we proposed the idea of Unwinding, which would terminate unwanteds without actually ending their lives. We thought it would shock both sides into seeing reason...
