Unwind Style
Point of View
The point of view used in Unwind by Neal Shusterman is third person omniscient. This is particularly appropriate when setting and intangible objects are of great importance to the story. Third person allows Shusterman to give the reader great insight into the sights and sounds encountered in the by each person and to develop a sense of personality and vision regarding each character.
In some places no other point of view would be appropriate, particularly when the story revolves around the tension between Risa and Connor. The reader needs to see both sides of the story to better understand the relationship. It is also vital that the reader understands Lev's point of view as it is very different from Risa and Connor's view as well as the opinion of his other traveling companion, CyFi In the case of CyFi it would be too difficult to write from the boy's point...
