Birds make a reappearance in this book. They are symbolic of calamity and redemption. While it’s said that the black doves fight wars, it’s also mentioned that white doves bring peace on their wings, symbolizing the fact that Kennedy as the white dove will find a way to end this fight.

Faith's Journal

Faith’s journal is symbolic of her tie to Kennedy. When Faith dies early in the book, she leaves Kennedy her journal as a guide to make her realize that she is the white dove and has a part to play yet.

Tattoos are symbols of belonging. In both the Illuminati and Legion there are tattoos that prove someone a part of their group and that they belong there.
