Uncle Monday

Uncle Monday is the story’s central character. He is highly mysterious, and the other residents of the small town know only that he is named Monday and that he is a conjurer of hoodoo magic. He performs hoodoo services for the people in town and has been observed to have extraordinary powers, such as the ability to completely heal from severe wounds. It also appears that Uncle Monday’s true form is that of a large alligator. Uncle Monday claims to have died years ago and to have returned from the afterlife. He appears to be a symbol for the power and indomitable aspect of nature itself.
