Chapter 19 through Chapter 22 Summary

In Chapter 19, Dez is taken to level nine, where she notices the entire floor is set up to facilitate the killing sixes. He leads her to a series of cages, where he explains the inhabitants are dangerous, to themselves and others. He also explains that one of the inhabitants, Kat, was a spy for the sixes, and simply pretended to be working for Denazen. He further explains he wants to put Dez in place of Kat, working to infiltrate the sixes, and help find Ginger. Horrified, Dez realizes they have come to Kale's cage, where they are taking samples of blood to be injected into sixes, as his blood works as a calming agent. He looks terrible, and it is clear they have been abusing him. When Marshall turns away for a moment, Dez urges Kale to drink the orange juice they offer...
