Summary

The story opens with an unknown narrator asking someone to find them. They describe three keys and a secret path, but warn against drinking the water and listening to the voice. The voice says they are there and they can all escape if they are found.

Chapter One starts by describing Mia’s former life with her parents, brother, and his best friend Sam before the virus gave her powers. Now, she thinks of herself as a monster (as that is what the PSFs call her) and she still struggles with her parent’s death. It is revealed that she is a Blue with telekinetic powers that manifested on her tenth birthday. Suddenly, smoke floods the room filled with girls and they are doused with ice cold water.
