Summary

In Chapter Three, Sam panics as Tildon arrives and secretly hopes that Lucas protects himself. As Tildon tells Lucas to leave, Sam hears something else breathing in the room. As Tildon calls her sweetie and smashes his baton against the cage, Sam realizes that TIldon will never leave her alone. He drags the cage into the middle of the room, but Lucas tells command that Tildon has relieved him of his guard duty. This alerts command that Tildon is there without getting Lucas in trouble, and the two receive unknown orders that force them both to leave.

Sam wakes up in complete darkness and wonders if she dreamed of Lucas. She thinks that the short time with him was a miracle that showed her what life could have been, but knows it will never happen again. Suddenly, she...
