Summary

Chapter 1 opens as Naomi enters Cafe Rev to meet with her sister, Tina. Naomi enters the cafe and sees a picture of herself with a sign that says, Do Not Serve. This is her first time in Knockemout, Virginia. A man comes from behind the counter, and she instantly tells him that the picture is not her. She introduces herself. The man’s name is Justice, and the picture is of Naomi’s twin sister, Tina.

Another man enters, and he confronts Naomi. He yells at her and tells her to leave. He believes that she is Tina. Naomi responds to him and tells him that he has no right to speak to anyone that way. She learns the new man’s name is Knox, and she decides to go back to her motel as she figures that Tina can find her...
