Summary

In Chapter 1, Laura “Lo” Blacklock sensed there was something wrong when she was awakened by her cat and realized the door to her bedroom was shut. She began to panic but realized the cat had probably pushed the door closed. When Lo opened the door to put the cat out, there was a man standing there. She could not see the man because he was wearing a hoodie and his face was covered. Only his hands, on which he was wearing latex gloves, were showing. She realized he was holding her purse, which had her mobile phone inside so she had no way to call for help. Instead of hurting her, he stepped forward and slammed the bedroom door in her face, cutting her cheek in the process. She heard movement and crashing in the rest of her apartment. Finally, the front door closed...
