Luck

The theme of luck is constant throughout the book. From the start, Olive is convinced that her life has been defined by a series of unfortunate events all due to her relentless bad luck. She sees her sister, Ami, as the lucky one: she has a great job, is in love with her fiancé and always wins whatever contest she enters.
