Summary

Olive wakes up and goes to get breakfast for Ethan who remains passed out. When he wakes up, it is evident he has a pounding headache from the previous nights' drinks. Ethan asks if Olive ran into Sophie downstairs and the question rubs her the wrong way. Noticing that she is suddenly irritated, Ethan says that she seems upset. Internally Olive digests the question, "I take a deep breath, pulling myself to my full height. Do I seem upset? He kissed me last night, said sweet things implying that may he'd wanted to do that for a while, and then passed out. Now he's grilling me about who might have seen me getting food alone in the hotel. I don't think my reaction is overblown" (223). To Ethan, Olive simply replies, "I'm great"(223).
