Summary

After the eventful outing on the boat, Ethan and Olive return to the room and decide to stay in and order room service. Although they take their meals in separate rooms, Olive realizes the reason she stayed in that evening was to be there for Ethan. The thought is surprising. Even though she tries to convince herself otherwise, Olive can't help but think about how nice it felt to be with him today and how much she enjoyed their outing. Olive laughs out loud just recalling their awkward encounter in the bathroom. Smiling in the direction of the living room where Ethan is staying, Olive realizes that "Staying firmly on Team I Hate Ethan Thomas is going to be more work than it may be worth" (158).

The next morning the two wake up to a rainy day. Olive asks Ethan what his plans are...
