They spend their days walking a little, talking about Heloise's childhood, learning a strange language, and opening a bottle of Amarone in the evening. They avoid talking about Lahardane with each other, but there is hope that perhaps in this strange country, they will have another child. They eventually became an ordinary part of the town.
