Summary

The following day, Arthur knocks on Lucille's door to apologize but she is still angry and talks to him shortly. He returns to the cemetery, visiting the other graves before reaching Nola. As he sits down, Maddy comes over and begins a conversation, asking him about how he visits Nola every day. As Arthur talks about his conversations with Nola, they introduce themselves to each other and it begins to rain heavily. Arthur asks Maddy to come to his home and she obliges, taking the bus with him, where Arthur pays for her ride. He tells her he has tomato soup, and once they get home, Maddy is quickly befriended by Gordon. However, Maddy immediately breaks down, overwhelmed by her breakup the night before.
