Summary

It has been six months since Arthur Moses's wife Nola passed away in November and Arthur visits to have lunch with her every day. Before reaching her grave, Arthur stops in front of other graves, trying to connect with them spiritually and imagine how their lives transpired. Once at Nola's grave, Arthur eats his lunch while conversing with her. He spends some time crying in front of her grave, and as he moves to leave, sees a young girl with spiky hair who he waves too but who moves away. The girl, Maddy, does not mean to seem distant but still observes Arthur from afar. She is in high school and waiting till her lunch period finishes before she returns. Later, she plans to meet her older boyfriend, Anderson, who she met at Walmart. Maddy finds graves comforting but is mocked by Anderson...
