Summary

Chapter 1 is set in November of 1980. Snow had just fallen for the first time that winter when Sara Kvinesland pulled her Toyota Corolla into the driveway of her boyfriend’s house. She told her son, who was sitting in the backseat, she would be back in just ten minutes. Inside the house, she told her boyfriend he could move, as he was planning to do, but he had to sleep with her first. She told him that her husband was at work.
