Summary

The tax collector leads Flavius and Justin down some dark passageways to his home where he tells Flavius and Justin that a friend of his had seen the two entering the Dolphin establishment earlier and notified the tax collector. Flavius and Justin stood out because of their erect military bearing inside their rough clothing. This led the tax collector's friend to think that they might be in hiding. When the tax collector saw Flavius' dolphin ring, he knew that the pair may need some help. Flavius tells the tax collector that they need to get to Gaul to reach Constantius and the tax collector says that he can help them.
