Summary

In Part One Chapter Eight, Bex, Lacey, and Cilla analyze the contents of the t-shirt over tea. Lacey and Cilla acknowledge there is something between Nick and Bex, but Bex cannot bring herself to admit it, or to admit she needs to dump Clive. The others insist she needs to make her feelings for Nick known. Just then, Nick appears to join their conversation. During the conversation, Nick presents Bex and Lacey with two enameled pins depicting a British and American flag intertwined.

After that day, Bex full acknowledges her feelings for Nick to herself, and becomes increasingly aware of his presence. As a result, she begins avoiding Clive.
