Summary

In Chapter 11, three days before Christmas Joel boarded a train at Union Station. He met his sister, Stella, in the dining car. They tried not to talk about their parents but could not help but do so since it was the obvious topic. Joel told Stella that their father had transferred the land to their names. He feared that if Dexter’s family tried to file a wrongful death suit the land would not be protected because their father had transferred it illegally.

Florry met Stella and Joel at the station and told them they would stay with her at her house. Joel stopped the car in front of their family home and noted that just one year ago they had all been there together. Florry asked Joel to stop moping and drive on to her house where Marietta had supper waiting...
