Part II—Pages 112-142 Summary

In Part II, pages 112-142, Trent continues the interrogation with Jason. He wraps up the questioning about whom Jason saw on his walk to Alicia's house and starts to ask questions about the time Jason spent at Alicia's house. Jason mentions that Alicia and Brad seemed to be mad at other, more than normal, about something that Brad might have done to Alicia earlier in the day. Trent asks Jason about his feelings for Alicia. In the middle of the questioning, Trent realizes that Jason is innocent, but ignores the nagging voice inside of him to stop the interrogation because he wants to take the senator up on his offer to "write his own ticket."
